ROLE SUMMARY:

Wetherby Pembridge is the latest demonstration of Inspired's commitment to providing the highest academic excellence, curriculum rigour, extensive premium co-curricular facilities, and the very best support in accessing the top universities in the world.

This exceptional co-educational senior school will open in Olympia, London in September 2025 and will enable students to gain access to Inspired’s global best practices in teaching and learning, as well as global exchange and summer camp programmes, providing students with even more opportunities to transform and broaden their horizons.

The school will build on the academic success and heritage of our Wetherby and Pembridge Hall Pre-Prep and Prep Schools. Wetherby Pembridge will provide a premium, academic senior school pathway for students who are looking for an academically excellent, London co-educational senior school.

The school will feature state-of-the-art learning environments with future-ready classrooms and labs, a library with an eight-floor glass atrium, professional-standard theatre facilities, STEAM Maker Spaces using the latest AI and VR technology, a vibrant Creative and Performing Arts programme and outstanding provision for sport both onsite and nearby.

We are delighted to welcome applications from outstanding, dynamic and suitably experienced individuals for the role of Teacher of Humanities, to be in post ready for the school opening in September 2025. This is a superb opportunity for the right candidate to leverage their experience as a Geography or History specialist in a high-performing school environment to help establish a world-class Humanities provision at Wetherby Pembridge. Working closely with the Founding Leadership Team, and with the Deputy Head (Academic) in particular, the successful candidate will have a major role in helping to develop an innovative, ambitious and comprehensive Humanities programme for this exciting new chapter in the Wetherby Pembridge journey.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Teaching a full timetable allocation, covering a generalist Humanities curriculum in Years 7-8 and either Geography or History from Year 9 upwards, depending on the specialism of the successful candidate
• Planning, preparing and delivering excellent lessons, including working with the SENDCo to ensure that Humanities teaching at Wetherby Pembridge makes appropriate provision for candidates with additional needs
• Promoting the study of Humanities throughout the school
• Attending and contributing to regular departmental meetings
• Contributing to and, where appropriate, leading super-curricular provision within the Humanities, and helping to foster a culture in which broad and regular super-curricular engagement is a routine aspect of student life
• Taking part in lesson observations and work scrutinies
• Having an open and proactive attitude to continuing professional development
• Assisting as required, in liaison with the Admissions Department, with the development and marking of assessment papers for candidates for entry to the school via the standard entry route and via Scholarship
• As required, setting and marking internal examinations
• Cooperating with all colleagues to ensure that Wetherby Pembridge remains a tidy, organised and inspiring learning environment
• Liaising with the Senior Leadership Team and others as appropriate to help develop and support Community Partnership opportunities

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
• PGCE, QTS or equivalent with strong academic credentials, including a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from a recognised university, and the right to work in the UK
• Significant experience of delivering outstanding Geography or History provision in a high-performing school environment
• The ability to teach Geography or History to A Level
• The resilience, drive, strength of character and sense of both humour and perspective to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding and ambitious environment
